Dogs, plain and simple are not meat, no matter what Yulin, China or Vietnam claim.
Dogs have become much more than that, and they deserve better treatment from humans because not only have they been protecting us for thousands of years from predators, intruders and everything else that wants to do us harm, they even protect us from ourselves.
Dogs have been with us for countless generations and over that time they have developed a keen sense of our moods. They often know when we are feeling down, feeling sick or just need a little TLC.
From my own personal experience, I owned an Australian Cattle-dog. She was so smart, I didn't even have to say bath, with a simple look she would go running. In another amazing feat she would know I was planning on taking her for a car ride just by the way I grabbed my keys. She was incredibly smart and amazing she was very sensitive also.
I was busy one day and Pepper kept nudging my leg, meaning she needed to go out. I waited too long and as she was running downstairs toward the back door, she tinkled a bit here and there. When she came back in she was so upset by what she had done that it took hours of me saying "Pepper, it was daddy's fault not yours" to coax her out from under the bed.
In these two examples below one service dog named Samson saw his owner Danielle Jacobs, who suffers from Asperger syndrome, having a meltdown. Sampson stayed right by her and gently grabbed her arm and nudge her, all in an attempt to stop her from hurting herself. When Samson was able to calm Danielle down, he stayed right by her to give her the comfort and the support she needed at that moment..
Just today a video was posted showing a dog that sensed things were getting out of hand between two brothers. In this adorable video, the two brothers are fighting, trading kicks and punches in their living room as they fight and their pet seemed bothered by the family feud.
Being the only cool headed soul in the house he tried to break up the fight by gently pulling the much larger older brother away from the fisticuffs.
The dog was so smart, he knew the older brother stopped fighting, but the youngster was still trying to go at it so this amazing pooch switched over and now tried to get the rambunctious youth to stop throwing hay makers.
The point that China and Vietnam as well as other Asian countriescannot seem to grasp is dogs have far exceeded "Meat" status.
All animals should be considered living souls and not eaten, but Dogs have long ago grown 'Greater than the sum of their parts'
The two videos below are just a small sampling of the millions of cases where Dogs showed they are connected to us in ways for which we cannot explain. In some cases they are so in sync, they could almost be considered an extension of ourselves.
There are millions of Chinese and Vietnamese that despise what their countryman are doing to dogs and hopefully they can show them that dogs have been, and always shall be friends not food.
In my view it should be "Family not Food" because every dog I ever owned have been closer to me than my own brothers.
