China Facing A Moral Tsunami
China for all its military might and their ever growing manufacturing industry it is still only childlike as far as morals go.
For all their talk about being the immense and effective Chinese government, they are a pitiable little gathering.
Consider this, the Chinese government "Claims" 99.7% of its people goes through their state sponsored 9-year education system.... But, just 70% of its populace still have no idea that Ivory originates from elephants that are slaughtered.
I for one know Chinese manufacturers when I owned business years ago and my company purchased supplies from some of their plants. On a few occasions, my orders were deferred so I rang my contacts there to see what was occurring.
It appears the Chinese Government whenever it wishes, can simply close towns down for any number of reasons. State celebrations, Climate related, Smog lifting, they even close one town down for 2 weeks simply on the grounds that they were having some American companies for a visit to look over the assembling division and China needed the brown haze that was constant in the area, to lift furthermore, they wanted the townspeople to clean the city up to "Put on a "Good" show"
So any administration that can close down a town or even the entire nation's industry (As they did for the Olympics) can now, not teach its people on how precisely every one of those elephants and Rhino trinkets really originate from?
When the Chinese government announces they are doing everything they can to stop the killing of animals for trinkets and to teach their people on the morals of Dog meat eating or the murdering of innocent creatures you can be guaranteed of one thing... They are lying out their socialist asses.
If China genuinely wanted to stop it... It would have been stopped yesterday.
A nation that can prevent you from having more than one child, close towns freely, but now, somehow can't prevent its people from eating Dogs and Cats and washing it down with Tiger bone wine?
The fact of the matter is, China does not want to stop it. China to keep their hold on it citizens, need's uneducated individuals or better yet they need people who are "Educated" into their reasoning. Part of this "Education" is the honoring of traditions that are so out of date any real educated person would find them almost laughable. China also declines to surrender the BILLIONS it's raking in by looking the other way when another shipment of tusks, rhino horn powder or cask Tiger bone wine enters the nation.
Over China's long history, Dogs were used for three things, protection, hunting, and eating. The Chinese nation only recently started to view dogs and cats as pets, dissimilar to Westerners who consider dogs as "man's best friends,"
China won't stop their dog and cat eating ways until a time comes when they feel the world has humiliated their nation, to a point where it will measure the global dishonor versus the Billions it's taking in.
China additionally has one other issue in the matter of canine meat eating. Their nations' residents are poor in light of the fact that in China's eyes, destitute individuals make for, well-behaved subjects. China is more than willing to accept some social media dishonor is their citizens are poor with bellies full of dog meat and drunk on Tiger bone wine. If China does crack down on their dog meat eating and illegal animal trade they will now be left with poor, hungry people who pine for the Fido burger eating days of the past.
In this day and age China has it's people so mentally programmed they think making $2 a day is incredible, and they thank their leaders when their pay goes up to $2.10 a day. Simply examine North Korea for a definitive case of how a government can mentally program its people.
The only way this stops is when the world pounds China and give it's people a "Genuine" education on how precisely each one of those a huge numbers of tusks originated from. While China does it's best to control the flow of information through the Internet, as they develop they will have a harder time controlling the data that streams toward its people.
As people with free access to social networks and the Internet as a whole, we can never stop, let up or get self-satisfied. So in the event that you believe "I am one small individual, what would I be able to accomplish to have any kind of effect?" trust us you do have a huge impact. Every post, tweet, Pinterest photograph, helps the overall effort. Your one tweet may make it to an individual in China who is not educated enough to understand the moral ramifications of eating dogs or accepting an ivory trinket as a present.
My life history has stretched out through the Berlin wall and the eventual disassembling of it. 20 years before the wall fell, nobody on Earth suspected that it would ever happen. Russia had such a tight hold on the stream of information to its people nobody genuinely accepted individuals would get educated enough to begin challenging the government from within.
It seemed like it took forever, but day after day the world kept trying to get the needed information across the wall until finally, one day East Germany's people had enough information and enough worldwide support to force its leaders to give in to their demands for freedom.
After this weekend's huge number of protesters to stop China's dog eating ways, Wildlife Planet believes the tide has turned and like East Germany years back, a moral tsunami is building and its course is headed right toward China and the only way that wave dissipates before reaching it's intended target, is with us becoming complacent.
