After spending a major part of their life as logging slaves, two elephants are finally breathing the fresh air of freedom, thanks to the efforts of a 23-year-old, named Christian Leblanc
LeBlanc a YouTuber and filmmaker, started a campaign that was able to raise thousands of dollars to pay for their release of these two elephant laborers, Boonme and Buabaan.
The elephant slave duo, worked tirelessly for decades in the logging industries and elephant trekking trades, all the while chained and working beyond their capacity.
With their freedom bought they pair are having a ball, spending most of their time enjoying mud baths and gorging themselves on fresh vegetables and fruits.
This miraculous rescue will be featured in Leblanc's upcoming documentary, Black Tusk.
Leblanc hopes his film will create awareness about the cruelty of the elephant trekking trade that's booming in Thailand.
Wildlife Planet is attempting to contact the filmmaker in an effort to assist his worthy cause.
We wish the film great success and we pray that Boonme and Buabaan live happily for many years to come.
Lord knows these are owed the longest, most enjoyable vacation ever.
