Fact #1 - 10 days of slaughter
The festival goes on for 10 days wherein more than 15,000 dogs and 5,000 cats are slaughtered and eaten. This is only an estimated figure and the numbers can be higher.
Fact #2 - They Taste Better This Way
Dogs are skinned alive, torn apart, smashed with hammers and cut with chainsaws and even boiled and set on fire, alive. A lot of people at the festival also engage in public torturing of these poor souls by dragging and running over them with cars. WHY? because these morally deprived idiots believe a dog who dies under this kind of stress... TASTES BETTER!!!
Fact #3 - That's A lot of Dogs and Cats
Too many and not in the sense of eating them... Anything over ZERO is too many. Since China has the same number of Dog and Cat farms as the United States does, that could only mean one thing. These animals are mostly pets that were stolen and then sold to the butchers of Yulin. There are strays that mingle in but if you walk through the Festival and look at the dogs in the cages you'll see a lot of them have pet collars on them.
Fact #4 - It's like Chinese Disneyland
The festival is very popular with the anti-establishment crowd and with 1.379 Billion people in the country and all those morally corrupt descending on Yulin, means the festival is big business. Between the grunge of China's populace, the media, NGO workers and activists you have to pay a premium price to rent a hotel room. So as long as Yulin is big business it will continue.
#5 - You Sh*ttin me?
Dogs are crammed into small cages and sent on an grueling journey to Yulin. This journey alone is so traumatic and uncomfortable that thousands of dogs die due to dehydration or starvation on the way itself. One of the reasons why this festival is such a health risk is the fact that for days dogs and cats are defecating on each other.
Then there is also the fact that the butcher with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, looking like he just changes the oil on a old Buick is making your meal, makes you wonder why more people don't catch anything. I wish they would all catch something and die a horrible death... I can't wait for my next birthday candle.
#6 - Stop Buying... Start Shooting
Well the start shooting part is what I would be doing if I went To Yulin. But, A total of 81 Chinese NGOs asked for rescuers and average citizens who just care - to stop buying dogs from traders as it was only creating more profits for the dog meat industry and more animals would suffer in the long run. Slaughterhouses were not closed down - just emptied of dogs – and more than likely criminal organizations will be more involved in stealing pets to supply Yulin's blood lust.
#7 - Bringing the heat
The Chinese believe eating dog meat stimulates internal heat and brings good luck and health!
#8 - China has no "Dog-Eating" laws
Eating dog is not against the law in China. Neither is boiling them alive in oil, or pulling their skin off as they scream in pain. But, if China did enforce their health laws that have passed, then this would shut down the Festival immediately. There are laws on the books that any animal used for dinner must have papers proving where that animal came from and it also must go through a quarantine period to prove it is nor carrying any diseases like rabies.
#9 - It's Not All bad News
The festival has also led to a dramatic increase in the number of people contracting rabies in the city of Yulin.
#10 - China is full of Crap
Yulin officials claim "There is no Yulin Dog Meat Festival"
China officials claim "We are doing everything we can to stop it"
Of course a country that can tell all it's people for years "Only one baby per family." A country that demands it's people must go to school or serve jail time. A country that tells you when to take vacation or every business must close on certain days, want's you to believe they are powerless to stop this horrorfeast?
